Just for everyones information this Mantilla/Dumerelli/Brown ray didn't cost $200. It was FREE. That's right..... Can you say "box filler"? I've heard of vendors throwing a catfish or 2 in for free to fill a box but a ray????? I'm just a hobbyist. I have no "home team" I'm not partial to any 1 vendor over another. All I know is I have been looking for some nice Marbles for a VERY long time and I finally found them. The ray pictured was nothing more than a free box filling gift. Is the vendor I got it from the greatest on earth? Some think so, some don't. All I know is you can't mess with free. I don't care who you are or what the value is. Free is free and free is good. I just thought that if it was gonna turn out like my big female that I better anti up and get some more. I think I'll just grow it out and see what it looks like in a few months. At least it will give my little C.B. marble pup some company. If someone can SHOW me what this thing will look like when it gets older that would be really GREAT, as that is the whole reason for this post.... Just wanted to know if it will transform into what I currently have swimming around in my pond........

So the whole not eating thing....... Just very delicate? Treat like a Retic and isolate it from the Motos since they will probobly stress the crap out of it? It's in with a pair of Motos about twice it's size. Not a big deal to just through a divider in........ Thanks for the links Miles.... I think the adults are pretty decent looking...... Definetly no Marble though...LOL

yeah just offer it different foods.. you know what your doing. I was just thinking a good reason to dump off a free ray on someone is if it doesn't eat and starts thinning out, and you need to make new tank space for fat imports. I always wonder what they will look like when they grow up.. hopefully you can get it going and we can see if it morphs as an adult :D
 
It hasn't eaten yet..... but then again most rays I've gotten tend to take a few days to settle in. She is very active and even makes repeated runs to the bubble disk to ride the bubbles to the surface. I firmly believe that the only reason this ray was sent to me for free is cause my original order was for a pair of Marbles and a pair of Mantillas. I was a little late on the last batch of Mantillas and had mentioned I would like to get some on the next shipment. They came in. I went to order some and was advised it would be in my best interest to wait as there was a suprise in the works. I did. 2 days later I was called out of the blue and informed that there were Marbles available. I then decided on the pair of Marbles and a pair of Mantillas. Upon seeing pics of the Marbles I decided it would be silly of me to pass up a 3rd Marble to get a pair of Mantillas. My final order was for 3 Marbles. He knew I wanted both species but only had the $ for the Marbles. 2 of the Marbles have allready began taking market shrimp. I will be heading home from work today with some red wigglers...... Hopefully after I move the big Marble, that likes to lay on this brown ray, it will decide to eat. Miles I really appreciate your advise despite where the ray came from. It shows true unbiased dedication to the hobby on your part...... And to me that is pricelss.
 
Whatever it is it began eating last night...... Pouncin on worms. So conclusion is Guyana/Humerosa/Orbigini/Dumerelli????? AKA BROWN Ray? But NOT Teacup or Mantilla?? ha ha........ehhh.
