thank you .. i will keep that in mind when i am ready...

Well i should have chose better words and not have said hardy. They are not a very accepting fish. When they are kept in their colonies they will often fight a lot with differnt fish. I had one before i knew a lot about them with my saulosi and he died within a week. The saulosi would fight with him which probaly drove it to its death. I also did a water change before he died which could have added to the stress. What i meant by hardy is that it is not too accepting to its surrondings lol...........very poorly written article haha

Thanks .. so they are somewhat more sensitive to keep.... i should not have a problem with that... if i ended up getting this one.. he would be alone for awhile in a small planted tank... until i could get the colony and set up bigger .... you did just fine in your information.... thank you very much..

i have about 20 in my 225gl. they are just like any other A.Cichlid's,they love to chase each other, the only time i had a problem with them when i had them in my 200gl. as colony.Very hard cichlid's to have them as a colony,i highly recommend to have them with other Cichlid's, like Frontosa's.

out of all my A.Cichlids they are slow growers, but the guy i get them from he told me that they mature in 2-3 years....i tell you one-thing,tropheus and Frontosa's are my all-time favorite A.Cichlid.

Tropheus duboisi - great fish. I kept a colony for a few years. They do prefer to be kept in colonies, I believe minimum of 6 preferably 8 or more. They are slow growers, although worth the wait. Very rewarding when finally finding new parents that are holding fry. Kept a few Synodontis Petricola with the group, although they never bred. Highly recomended if you have the time and space for them.
