Convicts and Brichardi are about the same level of breeding...

If you want African.. Go Brichardi... If you want American go Convict ;)

i know u said u don't want guppies but if u didn't know the females can store sperm and become pregnant 6 times

Damn LOL crazy bugger, no wonder their the rabbits of the fish world haha.

as for the quote about red jewels, i duno bout getting them breeding, sure once they start breeding they dont stop, but ive been trying for a couple of months to get an established breeding pair i bought to breed with no success on a plain gravel tank. going to try and find some rocks hopefully soon to replace the plate i put in to try and simulate a rock. can anyone confirm if they've used a plate as a breeding surface befor?

they need some hiding places.. even convicts won't spawn in a bare tank. they need something to hide in and something to lay the eggs on.

my red jewels have a couple rock huts and a bunch of other hiding places for the babies.. i've never seen the eggs, but every 3 or 4 weeks i have free swimming fry.

bettas are easy to breed and very enjoying seeing the pair mate, very unique, but feeding the frys are hard.
