I've had the absolute worst luck with my 75 gallons wet/dry sump.
I first had frankly no idea how to set the darn thing up, as it was from CL. I talked to my moms ex over the phone, since he has one exactly like mine (with the built in corner over flow) and helped me. This was about a week ago, since then
-I have spent at least 5 hours messing with different pumps, trying to make it work, getting everything wet in the process
-the tank has over flowed twice now at least, not only soaking the floor, bed, and clothes, but also causing my baby sen bichir, Namine to end up in the overflow, same with my new peacock eel, Mushu.
-the sump has overflowed, more water everywhere
-my filter would just not work, no matter how low the pump was on, the drain just wouldn't drain fast enough (which caused the tank to overflow, then the opposite causing the sump to overflow)
- I spent 5 hours yesterday messing with the filter, trying to make it work, ended up going to my LFS, getting stuff to build a "silencer" out of PVC, which was supposed to help
-Get back, on a whim, check the return hose, there was a piece of foam stuck in there, removed foam, return and pump works just fine

A piece of foam only 4" long caused ALL my problems, which of course, I stuck in the return pipe so fish wouldn't go down there, and clearly forgot to remove. I have spent at least 10-15 hours trying to make that darn filter work.
-my heater, which is in the wet/dry underneath the the piles of bio balls, broke and the other one needed to get turned up, and of course, it is the old one where you have to use a dime to turn it up, which involves removing said filter media or scraping your hand and bumping your head so you can adjust it
Other than that, everything is going good now.
