What is the most colorful or beautiful large freshwater fish?

Every girl I have ever met thinks puffers are adorable.....I am trying to get my wife into fish too so I am looking for that one that gets her LOL, I think it's gonna be a puffer.

yea my gf hates all my fish except my little leopard puffers, all the ladies love them. anyway im not sure if discus really qualify as monsters but i think theyre the most beautiful freshwater fish kept in the hobby

Ok. Have to change things up a bit. I have a new tank coming. 100 Gal. approximately 5'x2'x2'. I know the length is right width and height may be slightly more.

100g w/ a 5ft length will be around 60x18x18 or so. Same tank I'm looking for to put my oddballs in.

Discus. If you are willing to pay attention to the water quality, they come in so many beautiful colors and they are personable. They will watch you as you pass by and they will come to the glass when you approach.
