I work at a local fish store and a customer said they wanted to take their tank down. They asked for help in exchange for the tank so i said sure. I arrived at the house to see a 55 gallon that was black and almost no fish were visible except shines of red. This 55 housed 7 full sized 8"+ red devils three were a foot long easy. Not to mention the 15-20 adult 5"+ convicts that were breeding. their were about 25 medium convicts as well as their babies about 30 smalls around 2". So now you must be thinking this is horrible, i thought all the fish were out of tank at this point until I lift up a large piece of driftwood that housed a 18"+ pleco. All of these fish were living in harmony as they could barely move or even see eachother. All of the fish were brought back to the fish store . Stuck the pleco in the 200 gallon pond. stuck all the convicts in a 55 and stuck the devils in a 55. all were fine the first week but being in a; new enviroment a healthy one aggression kicked in and the devils were quickly thinned out to about 4. somehow the convicts still live in peace.
