What is the most ridiculous overcrowding you have seen?

I bet those goldfish are healthier than most any in a fish store in the states. They certainly look bigger and more colourful than any goldfish I've seen in LFS.

If I'm not mistaken Asian dealers with tanks like the one posted have continuous water change systems, new water always coming in and old water always draining out. The fish may not have much room to move, but the water is near pristine. And again, it's just a holding tank until the fish is sold to it's final home.

I agree, hopefully they turn over the fish as fast as they turn over the water.

yes, I hope so. Those tanks are stocked more heavily than most feeder tanks that I have seen but most good places have a huge sump with lots of biomedia and a drip system.

my neighboor prides himslef on his rubbermaid three hundred gallon pond. in it he has 4 koi each over a 2 feet long and several hundred feeders. he has no filter. every week he drains alot of the water out and then refills it with the hose. dont worry about the hose water though cause we share a well.

No filter? Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
