I used to eat loads of esox lucius. Wait a minute, does that make me a cannibal, lol. Wrapped in tinfoil, with a knob of butter and salt and pepper, and done in the oven. It is one of the nicest fish I have ever tasted. Boosted by the fact that you've caught it yourself. Yes, they are very bony and care needs to be taken, as with most fish.

On the Esox butter scale you'll find that a "knob" is just a bit more than a "smidgen", but no where near as much as a "dollop"
