what is this bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they actually eat rodents quite often.

I'll bet you can't find a single scientific report showing any rodent of any kind showing up in a single wild specimen of any Microperous.

If Bass eat rodents often, this should be an easy challenge.

I have personally seen lmb's eat lizards, snakes, baby ducks, and a small rat. They will eat just about any thing alive they can fit in thier mouth ;)

Feeding Habits - The diet of bass changes with its size. Young fish feed on microscopic animals (zooplankton) and small crustaceans such as grass shrimp and crayfish. Fingerling bass feed on insects, crayfish, and small fishes. Adult bass will eat whatever is available, including fish, crayfish, crabs, frogs, salamanders, snakes, mice, turtles and even birds.

I will say, I am not saying I agree with what they feed the LMB, But being out Bass fishing for 20+ years, You tend to see how they feed in the wild.

Any mouse in my house is going in the bass tank. If I can catch it.

X2

Just trim the nails on the mouse, they tend to scrath the inside of the LMB's mouth. In the video You notice how the Bass spit it out a couple times. This is because they grab the food(crawdad, duck, snake, ect.) and crush it a couple times to kill it to prevent cuts and nips. Many times using crawdads for bait, You get a strike and let it run. The Bass will stop and keep crushing the crawdad. Once You line moves again, set the hook!! Fish on!! Using minnows for bait, just let them run about 3 seconds, they will eat them without spitting them back out.

It's different if the bass actually "eats" it. How many times did that mouse get spat out?

They did it for sick enjoyment. I hope the childish owner feels like his dick grew after watching that selfish unnecessary act of disgust, because it didn't impress me at all.

If they did it for the sick enjoyment, then, I agree, it's wrong. I would not intentionally feed my Bass a mouse, how ever, if I caught it in my House LOL.
I was just stating what I've seen in the wild. All bass I ever owned were fed minnows and crawdads.

I have seen a mice eaten in the wild. This is not childish. The kid in the background probably couldnt believe it ate it. If feeding a mouse is childish then so is feeding comets or any other live prey. People keep predatory fish mainly because of the agression and great feeding displays. Some of you guys are real sensitive sometimes. I guess its a show of the times.
