way cool.... thanks for the info.

i spent most of last night reading the stickies- lots of great info :)

i'm not questioning you guys but how can you tell that it's not a P. delhezi? i've been looking for replacements to my other bichirs that it ate and it seems like the delhezi and endlich look the same? in the sitcky the delhezi is more silver but on the sites i've looked at they both look the same.....
so my fish will get to 30"? if i want to have more i need to get ones that are bigger than mine is cause he ate the others? or should it go into a tank where it's the only bichir?

It is 100% PO. Endlicheri Endlicheri.
It is captive bred, so you will not see anywhere near 30".
Anything over 16" will be a bonus.

Delhezi - "upper jaw", round head. Smaller head. Body has pattern on top, plain white on the bottom.

Endlicheri - "lower jaw", flat head, protruding eyes, head looks like a frog. Big Head. Body has pattern on top and bottom.

From your picture, you can clearly see the pattern on the body wrapping top and bottom.

very helpful, thank you. i think i'd like to add a P delhezi for the contrast but i need to see what i can find about growth rates and definately want to get one that is a bit larger than my eating machine :) assuming they are compatable?

Tokyo- how can you tell it's captive bred?

well i was able to see the anal fin- she's a female...... the others must have been male. i'll have to call her my Black Widow :)
