If you look at a clear pic of both, you'll notice that they are nothing alike. The del is an upper jaw species and the endi is a lower jaw. They are also very different in their fin position and colouration.
way cool.... thanks for the info.
i spent most of last night reading the stickies- lots of great info
i'm not questioning you guys but how can you tell that it's not a P. delhezi? i've been looking for replacements to my other bichirs that it ate and it seems like the delhezi and endlich look the same? in the sitcky the delhezi is more silver but on the sites i've looked at they both look the same.....
so my fish will get to 30"? if i want to have more i need to get ones that are bigger than mine is cause he ate the others? or should it go into a tank where it's the only bichir?
Delhezi - "upper jaw", round head. Smaller head. Body has pattern on top, plain white on the bottom.
Endlicheri - "lower jaw", flat head, protruding eyes, head looks like a frog. Big Head. Body has pattern on top and bottom.
From your picture, you can clearly see the pattern on the body wrapping top and bottom.
