What is this fuzzy stuff on my drift wood?

I have gotten it on a piece of driftwood I've had for four years. And someone else had it for years before that. I just yanked the wood out. It went away after the wood dried. Then I ran it under hot water and put it back in the tank.

Interesting how it hasn't grown back on your pieces....

It's just cause its a new piece of driftwood nothing to worry about. If you have a Pleco put it in there it will eat the fuzz and speed up process

I had a big piece of manzanita and it was covered in this fuzz. My pleco went nuts for it.

It seems to be going away on its own now, I know my archer fish aren't eating it, but there are some snails in my tank. I really need to get more inhabitants, its a 120 4x2x2 with 3 baby archer fish and a violet goby XD

Compared to most MFK'ers you almost don't have fish in that tank at all.

I doubt if it is there because the wood is new.

its okay I have a 225 that has a giant snakehead and 2 albino pacu among others so I'm plenty monster

its just residue from the drift wood, a pleco should take care of it, but its not dangerous
