By the way, breeding them has nothing to do with genetic testing of what they are or so on. We don't care what kind of result you get from genetic testing, we only care what they look like from selective breeding. That's what determine if they are a flowerhorn, bonsai, or kirin.
.WE THE PEOPLE, decided it.
So what your putting is that a flowerhorn, bonsai, and kirin all look the same?
izzy_here;4457527; said:That was exactly my point....the person that bred the fish decides what it is. There is no test etc to decide which grade the fish is. THE BREEDER decides what grade and what price.
No that is NOT what I am saying....I am saying you can get a kirrin, a bonsai FH and a regular FH from the SAME batch of fry! Regardless of what the parents were! Tell me you haven't seen that happen?
And to use YOUR words...There is no test to decide what grade they are...we the people decide! That means that anyone can call their fish anything they want to and sell it for any price.
that fish may have been crossed with a BP or KKP at some times, but straight cross BP or KKP doesn't count get the outcome of that. It's more of a kirin/killin if you were to cross BP/KKP for the first few generations. A bonsai would take much more effort...
izzy_here;4457546; said:The point is you posted that and I thought it was ridiculous because if you know anything about FH you know that you could get any and all types. FH, kirrin and parrot's.
izzy_here;4457549; said:we could sit and argue the rest all day long...but that was my orginal point.
The only reason it even bothered me was that YOU decided it wasn't a bonsai FH. How did you come to that conclusion? It does not have a parrot mouth or parrot head. It has a very round body etc. I've seen SB fh that looked virtually identical to it. So again I ask...how did you decide this?
I have a female kirrin and it's body looks nothing like this fish at all.
