My poor red tail sabertooth got a horrible fungal infection the last few days and passed from it tonight. I have only had it for a week and a half. As I was preparing to pull his body from the tank tonight, I saw movement. This larvae bug thing was IN his mouth!!! What is it? It's a little bigger then the size of a pea. Should I be concerned for the tank mates? Any info is appreciated!!!

well now ya know the cause of death..

subbed to find out what that is

That is fish lice (Argulus). Treat the whole tank. They can lay 500 eggs which will take 4 weeks to hatch out. Takes 5-6 weeks before you can visibly see them. You must of got it from feeders.

That is the bug thing that is in its mouth. Ive seen lice on fish before, but not IN them, I suppose it is possible though. What do I use to kill them? Mostly worried about my archer cat in there, he looks great, but I don't want to lose him too.

Wow, that bug is pretty big then...that might rule out fish lice then because fish lice only get to be about 0.2mm if I'm not mistaken
