I wouldnt waste my time with vinegar: hydrochloric acid, aka muriatic acid, and razor blades is the way to go with heavy build up like that. its used to clean tiles so you can find it at most hardware stores.

Thats exactly what I was thinking.. can I restrict the flow or would I want to? That pump is massive!

Ok.. this is what it came with.. I know nothing about the lighting although it does have a part number on one of the box's.. Google only brings up one page and thats to a store. http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/216165/product.web
