the Aqueon's are crap, the valve on the tube end cracks and leaks. i've had several do this. I love my old Python, hope they come back.
You are EXACTLY right, I had one crack on me over the weekend, late at night, no LFS were open. Had my 500 drained half way down when it did this. Luckily my 265 was empty but had water in it and sits higher so I siphoned the water from the 265 to the 500. So the next day I got 2 of them. Went to my buddies house that lives 45 mins away and let him borrow one, I get home and continue to fill the 500, cracked AGAIN, then went back to LFS and got 2 more. Now Im being extra careful.
I heard some other company bought out the patent once it expired? and then the new one took over changing them just a bit.
