What is your cleaning/water change routine and how long does it take you?

Tank size? you don't want to know but my water bill equal to a brand new middle class car payment lol and it's on automatic system. The smaller tank size got 40% water change weekly. Fish keeping is my second job like friend and my family keep saying and I don't get pay for that..... :)

process-aqueon water syphon

tank sizes-310 gallon, 150 gallon, 125 gallon, 55 gallon

time taken-roughly 1.5 hours, I have it down to a science. I use probiotics so I rarely need to clean filters. Every other month or so I ring out and rinse the sponges/filter floss in my sumps and HOB's.

What size siphon do you have? I have a medium, and I found it doesn't have particularly strong suction. :/ Is that 1.5 hours/week?

i think the hose is 3/4" if I'm eyeballing it correctly and the siphon tube itself is probably like 2 inches wide? I just crank the faucet on full blast if I'm syphoning gravel but in all honesty I don't need to since again I use rid-x in my tanks. Theres very minimal buildup on the substrate.

yup 1.5 every Tuesday.

600 gallon 100 gpd drip
270 gallon 50 gpd drip

180 gallon roughly 75% python
80 gallon roughly 75% python

Change filter socks out usually once every 2 weeks or so

Time is about 1.5 hours a week

do you do any changes with the tanks on drips? I'm thinking about setting a drip up for my 310 just to cut out the longest portion of my maintenance schedule.

I will do a small manual water change once every couple months to get the debris off the sand....most of it gets picked up from the powerheads, catfish and rays but theres always some there .....i like to get it before it piles up

But if your tank is bare i wouldnt see why u would have to do this
