Apples in PB does sound good

im digging the idea of a variety pellet bucket
as a few have stated

bet the fish love the mix
 
The fish really do enjoy a bucket mix of all sorts of pellets - something for everyone, and they can actually choose what they like, or want.

It also gives them a huge range of vitamins/veggies/fruits, meats, whatever proteins are in there - that one or the other may have less, or more of. Just like us, a varied diet, all at once, so to speak.

I use Hikari sinking carnivore, hikari cichlid gold medium, and wardely algae discs... daily. Also for my rtc x tsn chicken gizzards, small canned shrimp, earth worms and beef liver. For my Jardini Meal worms, crickets and earth worms....
 
Another vote here for Omega One, I use them for my Small/Baby Cichlids and they love it. I use the flakes and I used to just use tropical fish flakes and they ate it but when I put in Omega One they dart towards it and slam it down. There colors have gotten better too. Once they are a little bigger I am going to try Hikari because I heard its good too.
