Pick one? Oh man...
If I had to pick -
Jaguar Cichlid - They are just the whole package. Beautiful pattern, Impressive Size (but not TOO big), Plenty of personality (those expresseive orange eyes!), and of course VICIOUS predatory appetite. I'm not in favor of using feeder fish, but every now and then I can't resist watching a jag in it's natural piscivorous state!
Some close seconds -
Bichirs - Their behavior and appearence are so facinating. They can work in almost ANY tank, since they are non-aggressive but tough enough to handle abuse from aggressive fish.
P. Bass - If they would eat prepared foods. I can't wait til captive-bred p.bass become widely availible!
Silver Aro - I know this is a fairly mundane fish to most of us. But who can deny that a large silver aro cruising a spacious tank is one of the most impressive and majestic sights in all of aquaculture?
