2000 Roush Mustang #5004 V6

(Yes, I just said I own a V6 Mustang - deal with it.) 1 of 106 made in that year. I'll click over 200,000 miles this Summer and I get 30 mpg on the highway. Car has been on fire twice, stolen and stripped, and still kicks tail around a track. It's a love/hate relationship.

Motor/Drive train: 4.2L fully forged short block (low compression), Crower cam, custom heads (Hammerhead Performance), warmed over valve train, ported stock lower intake (Hammerhead Performance), custom boxed upper intake (Hammerhead Performance), ported Eaton M112, Cobra TB (port matched), ported inlet, 2.8" UPR blower pulley, 60 lb injectors, twin SVT fuel pumps, custom fuel rail (Hammerhead Performance), Lightning 90mm MAF, custom street legal exhaust running into Spin tech 333SCS mufflers (kicked out the sides), Ron Davis Aluminum radiator, Optima battery, A/C delete, Ram clutch, custom built Tremec WC T5 tranny, Roush Classic shifter, Eaton 7.5" rear end with FRPP 3.73 gears.

Suspension: Springs: 1050lb/inch fronts and 450 lb/in rears (somewhere between 3 1/2 and 4" drop), Bilstein shocks/struts (Roush spec), Roush front sway bar, GT rear sway bar, Roush control arms, full array of Energy Suspension poly, Steeda X2 ball joints, Flaming River steering, Roush 13" slotted/cross drilled rotors at all four corners, Roush front calipers, Hawk pads, SS lines

Wheels/tires: Roush Argents 18x9 front, 18x10 rear
265/35 BGF KD fronts, 295/35 BGF drags rear (drag strip) 295/35 BFG KD (road course)

Outside: Roush Stage 1 aeropackage (Splitter, side skirts, rear skirts, 3 post wing), All Roush badging, Y2K Cobra R 2 1/2" cowl hood with functional heat extraction, '03 black head light housings

Inside: Roush carbon fiber dash package, Roush floor mats, Roush Racing aluminum pedals, Roush badging, Autometer A pillar with boost and fuel pressure, Cobreau CR1 seats (bright blue) and 4 point harnesses (black), Sparco harness bar (full cage waiting to go in), rear seat delete, stereo delete, removed all "dead weight" (insulation, extra wires etc....), empty trunk with basic carpet for looks. Jack Roush autographed twice (Dash and radiator cover).

First V6 Mustang to ever make use of the Eaton M112 supercharger.
First V6 Mustang to break 500 rwhp with a roots blower.
First Roush V6 Mustang to crack 500 rwhp (still only two have done it).
Up next: First Whipple blown V6 - 3.4L twin screw is progress.

(For those who don't know Hammerhead Performance is my side company. I design, build, test and sell a lot of custom parts.)

Wow, one of the first guys to put more than euro tails on a v6 stang! :D Seriously though, pretty impressive. Over 500 whp, exactly how much? What does it run at the strip?

nice. V6 though? youd get a hella lot more power from a V8, especially with those parts and money you put into it. Nice twin screw. My dads running a saleen supercharger on his 07 4.6liter. its a beast. 680 something rwh. Yeah, i made a mistake on the power of the car in a previous post.

he can get even more out of that v6.... downfall to a V8 is the price of gas and the millage you get....

Actually, starting from scratch.... I can buy a V6 Mustang and build it to more hp cheaper than one could buy a V8 and make the same level. Most get so hooked on needing the big bad V8 they don't look at the V6 at all.

There are several quarter mile V6 Mustangs (street legal cars with interiors, radios and A/C) running low 9's. Mine isn't set up for straight short runs, it's an open track car. There are pics of it floating around here somewhere.

daily driver is a 2003 honda civic ex.
lowered 1.6" also i put on a cold air intake so it sounds cool. still very slow
i like the gas mileage though.
i also have a 1985 chevy s-10 with tons of mods.
4 link suspension in the rear, complete air ride. completely shaved out with a 5 1/2" bodydrop.
finally a 1964 1/2 Ford mustang hard top (high performance)
271hp 289 cubic inch small block, 4:11 9" rear 4spd its got the rally pack on the colum. its bone stock. the resto project starts as soon as i buy a house.

my lil work truck that get me from point A to Point B is a 2002 tacoma with a big bad V4 in it lol i love the gas milage on it. But when i want to get to point B in style i take out my baby from the garage its a 1956 Chevy Bel Air 391 Stroker engine putting out about 470 horsepower and a whole bunch of other goodies under the hood to many to list but it kills me on the gas lol but thats the price to pay i dont mind to much.

Not trying to be a jerk, but couldn't the same thing be said about your car. you could of gotten a different car with a v8 and had a hell of alot more power for the money you spent on your car with the 4 banger and then all the mods.

do you know how much boost you are pushing by chance? 303 hp sounds way to high, thats practically double the hp from stock. Toyota only rates it to increase power to 200 (flywheel, not wheels), cant see getting another 100 from intercooler, intake, exhaust and undersized pulleys.

Only a couple of classic cars in the bunch of listings? I find it amazing how many people like the new cars; they all look the same to me. I don't think you can beat the look and sound of a big block vintage muscle car and they go fast too!

a 94 crysler lebaron i ended up trading it in cuz it would of costed 600 to fix the transmion after a road trip on a minimum maintnece road and bottoming it out for over a half mile a couple weeks later after i traded it in the dealer ship sold it to a couple mexicans and i got this letter lol
