looking again on the pic I think there is a red band on the tailfin => No bleheri.
I see a slighlty sriping on the body. Both is found on gachua.
The back fin has some odd blotches, which I thought are similar to bleheris blotches.
But back to the fishes health, it looks like a bigger one has chewed on his head
i bought the fish yesterday in this health conditions... it's a couple... and the other fish looks like the same... same head damage... if it's an head damage... i'm not so sure...
get some beefhart and blodworms start pumping them up getem some good stuff in there bellys they should make it. There tuff fish. and i say gachua agin. look at the blue in lower fin and orange stripe on the tail
It's a Channa sp.assam blue pair in bad shape. They aren't C.bleferi, but quite close. The last time I checked, Heiko Bleher hadn't seen one in its natural habitat.
These are still juvies. The full body shape and color have just started to develop.
Feed them well and the vibrant blue coloration will start showing up. It can be appreciated currently in the caudal and anal fins.
These guys love to stay hidden under large leaves, esp.almond leaves. They are fun to keep. Love to eat insects, exp. spiders.
Had them in a species tank last year. Had a tough time weaning them off live food.
