What kind of Oscar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Takes a bit for the red to come in.
Wild type won’t have as much red even as a juvie, but it probably would be sold as such.

Couple more shots now hes had a good meal of jumbo mysis shrimp. Gonna camp a few days or so here until he can go to his permanent home. Didn't want to see him rot where he was at.

Until then, any tips? Hes in isolation since hes so small I want to make sure he gets good food.

Nice that the little Oscar is isolated and hopefully it is free from internal parasites. Other than that the Oscar should grow without issues.
Do you plan to feed other foods?

Frozen mysis, frozen bloodworms, crushed northfin carnivore pellets, Bug Bites, and New Life Spectrum flakes was my plan until my friend takes him in, which he does more live foods for his.

I keep mostly small fish, exception of hoplos, a common pleco, and goldfish. A large cichlid is definitely new ground for me, but I am not planning to keep him, a home is lined up. My only large tank is not suitable for an Oscar lol

Diet should be alright for the short time I've got him, yes?
