I bought it today and as soon as I arrived to the store I saw this sticker on the store 
You identified it correctly, it is indeed Amazon puffer but a very large one. I put them together with my other Amazon puffers and here it is this is how it looks
Now that i think about it the blotchiness is probably the puffer attempting to blend in with its surroundings based on the tanks setup if i had to guess… as puffers can change their looks to a very small extent depending on surroundings / mood etc…
