just got some nice Texas Holey Rock for my new set-up, I love the clean look to it. Here's s blurry pic of it with a black background & white sand set-up:

Keep that light going and you will have brown & green Texas Holey rock before you know it. :D

I have lost a few fish to some tuffa rock that is still in my tank. I am awaiting more THR to switch it out...

I should have a couple nice big pieces for you. I'm tearing down the 70G tonight. Wanna trade for some tuffa rock?

My 125 Mbuna tank is full of THR and they love it. I've already had a groupl of salousi breed in it. There's about 230lbs worth of rock in the tank and looks pretty good! Just remember to affirmly plant whatever rocks in your tank, because the fish will dig up your sand or gravel.

I'm keeping it on a timer and gauging the best duration to keep the algae growth down. Thanks for the heads up.

Def, a little color is always good.

FYI, for anyone unfamiliar with THR, if you get some and you have to maybe modify/whittle some edges down, be VERY careful. I had a huge beautiful $90 centerpiece that I was slightly modifying an edge to fit into my tank. I had knocked some edges off the other pieces with a little hammer and wrapped towel, so I thought nothing of it.

Long story short, I ended up shattering it into 5 different pieces with just a few small delicate hits of my hammer. The breaks were nowhere near where I was tapping either. I was beyond pissed, the worst part was that only 1 of the pieces was usable in my tank.

I lived I learned, hope someone can read this and not make the same mistake I did.

Myself, I wait for it to be $1 a pound or less. Tempting to get some more for 50 cents a pound. :)
