What kind of sand to buy?

I just filled my 150g with tahitian moon black sand. I forget the company name. I rinsed it first and it took about a day to settle.

I swear by play sand. I've got it running in my 56 and 75 gallon tanks and my bichirs love it. Also, rinsing only took a half hour for a hundred pounds and after two water changes the tank was crystal clear.

if you used T- grade color quartz, like i had recommended , you do not have to worry about it settling or clouding the tank.

Colorquartz from 3M. Lasts forever, unless you use it in a sandblaster. You don't even really need the rinse.

yeah i have it in my 55 gal and i love it and so do my cichlids

I use pool filter sand. A bag costs about 10 bucks and will be more than enough for 2 55gal tanks.

if you have not tried color quartz from 3m please try it and you will never use sand again i promise you that

cichlid sand is real good ,mine is black and white , keeps your ph up
