Hi!

What kind og shovelnose is this? It's only about 3" long.

I can't get it to eat anything, does it only eat live food, or does it eat anything else?

Thats a tsn, and I have one the same size. I drop in hikari sinking pellets (good for loaches, catfish, etc) and they dissappear and he's still alive, so i'm guessing he's eating them.

Tiger shovel nose, one of the more common in the hobby. Gets monster.

MOST CERTINLY IT IS A TIGER SHOVELNOSE , AND A YOUNG ONE TO ..:D HERE ARE SOME PIC'S OF MINE AT ABOUT A YEAR AND 9 1/2'' INCHE'S WITH MANAGUENSE CICHLID (JAGUAR) AND A MAYAN CICHLID (FALSE RED TERROR) FOR TAKMATE'S ..

GOOD LUCK AND POST MORE PIC'S

A young TSN might be quite shy, and can easily starve to death if the tankmates eat all the food. You can keep it in a separate tank until it starts eating.
This TSN was starving when I put it in a 40 g tank with a strong current. Didn't take long for it to start eating pieces of fish. Now I think the risk of famine is over...
