Being here on MFK has really made me start to think, "this is a website for hobbyist that enjoy keeping monster fish, but there are users on this site that also keep what most consider to be community fish." So the big question would have to be, what exactly makes a "monster" fish? Is it the attitude, looks, size, etcetera. Post what you think makes your fish a monster. Everyone join in, I want to see some perspective on this topic.

Oh this is Monster-Fish Keepers? I thought it was Monster Fishkeepers....meaning the fishkeepers are Monster, not the fish. My bad...

Sadly too many people are keeping "monster" fish in "not so monster" tanks these days.

Silver Aro would have to be #1 victim IMO.

Either way. I'm not saying that you have to keep monster fish to be apart of this website. I think I didn't clarify what I meant, I simply want to know in your opinion(s) what makes "A" monster fish. "Post what you think makes your fish a monster" is giving everyone the wrong idea, my mistake.

no way gold fish are by far the #1 victim. especially when a commet is in a 5 gal or worse a bowl and no cycle process

Ok fine, but aro's are still up there. I had someone telling me the other day that they just got a 100g, and they figure the silver will be good for life. :irked:

i'd have to agree, they are often sold in store at a small size 2"-5" usually by store employees that don't know anything about properly keeping them and they end up in very small tanks, and that usually ends very badly for the aro, and can frustrate the owner to the point where theyget out of the hobby all because of mis information from an uneducated LFS employee
