I use AC 500/110 on all my personal aquariums with no problems.

Some of wich are going on 5yrs. now.

IMO. you can always go "bigger better stronger" on your filteration; sump,canister,wet/dry ect.....

HOF seem to be easier for most people to maint....in a timely manner, unlike the other options.

Bottom line, it's a easy filter to use that works well.

theres people here who have used them for 15yrs+

i plan to buy 2. i see one guy selling for 52.99 + shipping. his username is pettreatguy or something, think hes legit? lol he got 5000 feedback

i agree 100%. you may have to change the sponge after 12 years, but thats about it. lol

it moves massive amounts of water for the price. you can completely customize your bio filtration regimen, and theyre great for doing custom plumbing (which i feel is almost necessary with hob filters), and on top of all that and more... they last forever. kind of a no brainer id say

Yup I paid 70 for mine and it is still worth every pretty penny . It has made my 300 GPH HOB top fin 60 filter totally redundant lol I might just pack the extra HOB on my 20 gallon ... But it has a fluval 105 and two 100 gph HOB's :nilly: gotta love having extra filters
