What makes fishkeeping SO hard?

I'm sure there are hobbies out there that you think are, crazy, ridiculous or a waste of time, right? To each his own and why care what others think, do you keep fish for you or them?

My friends bash me if I keep them to eat them. hahaha. So I said yea and tell them to come see them and they're like "wow thats a big fish, get the frying pan ready!"

My neighbor asked me if I keep my koi in the pond to eat too.

Not a single person in my life understands my love of fishkeeping. not my wife, not my parents, not my friends... its isolating to say the least, and makes it difficult.

No one sees it as a valid hobby or why I "waste my time" doing it.

it truely is a piss-off for me.

Because alot of people dont have hobbies. They'll just come home from school or work and park their butts in front of the idiot box. Your not alone...

Excellent perspective, Yes that's it, Maybe that's why my frinds think it is weird for a man about to be 40 y old to have fish as a hoppy, It is one of the most enjoiable things in my life, When i visit a LFS to get a new fish i feel again like a child visiting the toy store, What a wonderful feeling that is

My mom and dad aren't crazy about the costs of massivore/carnivore pellets and filter media for two 75 gallons, but they support me.
On the other hand my brother doesn't like them.
