What Mixes Well With Nics?

Could my Severum put it in its place when it catchs it up in size?

I'm worried its going to kill me Red Head Tapajos...cos they so fricken expensive here ($30 each)

Would depend on the severums attitude when it gets bigger. I have roktiel in my tank with them too, he is a inch smaller. He is the most passive so he gets chased by everyone. Never seen my nic do any fin damage to my other fishes though. I have heard their mouths are too small to do much damage. I would just let them settle stuff out for a week or two and see how it goes. If the nic starts doing some real damage, I would take him back or seperate him.

rosy barbs are ok. there are long fin varieties and look ok in a colorful community tank. i used mine as dither fish last year and remembering they ate a lot and my wild angels didnt get their fair share at feeding times. but,hey! thats barbs for you. very hardy and grow to around 4" max.

Was gonna say the Nic in your avatar is female not male.

I have a pair of nics in my 75g community tank (6" and 4"). They build intricate deep cave but wont spawn. They protect their territory but are not overly aggresive, except for short chases.
