i would put 2 delhezi bichirs, a red wolf fish and a Jardini arowana. my dream tank. for the people that think the red wolf is too aggresive, they aren't what u think. I have seen and experienced a large red wolf with bichirs half the size as tankmates.

good luck.
when I kept polypterus with a large wolf I pulled my 9" Sengal out of the wolfs mouth twice! Second time a had to pull him out by the tail! 90 gallon is too small for jardini and that stock list....I would go with African cichlids in a 90 gallon.

I would go with a pair of Midas, Red Devils or a pair of Trimacs if I were you. Just one pair for the 90. They will entertain you plenty

How about a few Vieja species like Aregentae or Zonatus? Google those fish for a pic of them. Vieja cichlids are unde not as common and cool cichlids.

There are a lot of smaller and midsize cichlids that could work. As far as the other fish you mentioned I could see dats lasting for a while. They have a fairly slow growth rate. A couple delhezi's with a couple dats would make for an interesting tank. If your not planning on upgrading in the future I would skip them though. Arows will outgrow that tank very quickly. Last silver I had went from 3" to 14" in about 3 months.

There are some pretty cool cichlids out there. What type of cichilds do you like best?

i quite like oscars but ive heard alot of things about them being hard to look after and get diseases easy

Oscars are very easy to take care of. the only thing you really have to worry about is giving them enough space and changing the water often since they do produce alot of waste. you could probably have 2 in a 90 gallon, but that would be the absolute max, i would go with one and then maybe a Jack Dempsey or other cichlid. id recommend you change at least 50% of your water once a week to keep the water quality up, because if you dont Oscars are prone to get HITH from bad water.

A single or maybe two Oscars then, as far as bigger fish are concerned they are not that hard, it seems most of the problems come from bad diet, and a lack of tank cleaning. I would study oscars anywho while you cycle your tank.

You should start small and woek your way up a 90 isn't really a monster tank. But if you want oscars get a couple of little ones and grow them up. Is this your only or first tank because if it is and you put 2 big oscars or any larger fish in that tank it will not cycle fast enough to keep up with the fish waste. Besides that watching your fish grow up is half the fun
