Thanks for all the replies wasn't expecting so many so soon my pond is concrete in ground round with a stone outside facad ranges from 4 1/2 around edge to 6' in middle 26' round in ground with 1' above GL like mentioned above its cold in winter but water seems to stay around 40 on the coldest day but the summer even with a wind sail cover can get close to 90% on 100+ day some of the fish I don't think would survive the temp variance and if could hook up a heater even gas I sure would love some monster gigas it they die below 60% I'll go back and look at the fish that where mentioned thanks for replies guys

That pond sounds like it is really nice, got any photos?

Albino channel catfish,American eels,golden shiners,smallmouth bass,yellow perch,longear sunfish,most gar species,freshwater drum,etc etc

If rebar was used in the pond u can't get paddlefish.

How would the rebar affect the paddlefish?

Oh yea tons of rebar had to and I'll post pics / think I found a solution for my gigas as most of my Koi are close / or are 3' and should not be dinner / I found a heat pump device using 410 high efficiency Freon duralast is one uses less power then any heating even gas iam going to check into that I can just imagine some 6' monster gigas in there :)

If you can heat it you've got space for pretty much anything, it's likely you could keep a pair of gigas for life without much trouble.

I'd like to know more about that as well.
Maybe it is the rebar scratching them somehow or an intolerance to metal in their water. Some fish can't take exposure to heavy metals
