what pet fish are also fish that can be eaten for human consumption?

probably since tilapia looks like cichlids a butterkoferi, i also had a rtc that could probably be eaten just like catfish...

makes me think of this show taboo where the guy was bringing home road kills..

in reality, there are probably only a handful of fish in the hobby that couldn't be eaten. most are not worth the effort im sure, but i doubt many would do harm (aside from parasites)

il have to settle with trout,striped bass or go buy some halibut or orange roufy

I have a VATF and a Scomb. once they get too big to keep, guess what im doing? im calling over all of my fish keeping buddies and we're pigging out on a couple of huge fillets! anybody got any recipes for atf or payara!

I heard that litterally ALL freshwater fish are edible.

This is in context of starving out in the wild..

This is for north america as well. i (think) i heard this from that wild guy bear grihls or whatever.

also, I think pacus oscars & rtc's may be good since can buy them small n cheap & they grow up fast.
groupers make sense
but some fish if I keep them as pets be hard pressed to eat them.
so seriously, some members actually ate their pet fish?
