What PH do you all keep your fish in? Also, what do you feel is the best PH for a variety of different species in the same tank. I have heard 7.0 is ideal for all around. I have never really messed with my PH and have never had a problem with any of my fish and it is at 7.6. Just wondering if I should lower to 7.0 for better fish health?

1.2 ... They are less active that way...

Actually 6.7 in all my tanks all fresh water

my tap water's ph is very high. I don't know exactly what it is because on every test I've taken it simply shows the color for the highest ph for that particular test.

as for a "best all around ph" that really depends on what kind of fish and if they're wild caught or tank raised. I think around 7.2-7.4 would cater to a heck of a lot of fish though. however I've always felt a steady ph is much better than a correct ph for the most part. :)

:iagree: A stable "not ideal" pH range is better than a fluctuating "ideal - not ideal" pH. In my tanks it's around 7.2 and everyone seems happy and healthy. :grinyes:

Best regards.

Whatever your tap water is, unless you are trying to induce spawning.. or if you have really bad tap water.
