What PH do you keep your fish in?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
6.4 in my planted tank but this is with pressurized Co2 and a KH of 5 which leaves me with my Co2 around 50-60ppm. Lots of pearling. :)

My other tanks i just leave it as is out of the tap which is around 7.2

i got some payara and a jardini arowana. both are juveniles around 3.5-4.5 inches. my tap water's pH is about 8.2 should i try and change it or just leave it the way it is?

I keep Africans, so I keep it high at about 8.4 in my 125. With the holey rocks I have in there, the pH fluctuates too much at water change time, and I get flashing, so I've started buffering the water. They seem to appreciate it!

In the tank without holey rock, it's somewhat lower, closer to the natural 7.8 I get out of the tap.

my main tank sits at 7.7 now, when if irst started it, it was 8.3 when it started out which is what the tap is.

i looked into getting it lower, but the ammount i would have to spend out on an RO unit to get enough water for a water change each week and the ammount of space i would need to store made it un viable.

my other tanks range from 7.5 to 8.3 depending on how many plants and how long they'ved been set up.

all of my tanks stay at 7.0... mostly because thats they ph that comes out of my sink..and i have well water so i dont have to add any chemicals to any of my tanks and my fish seem to do excelent in all my tanks...
