It could work, but I wouldn't risk it personally. I tried to keep a green phantom with my male histrix, and it worked for about 2 months, but in the eventually the pleco ended up sucking his disc. But I'm with everyone else on this -- Keep a very close eye on things if you do decide to get a pleco. They can't be trusted.

I think I'll give it a try. I have another tank he can go and live in if he decides to become a problem. My rays are big enough it shouldnt cause any major problems right away, Im guessing Id notice before any real damage occures

Gold nuggets L018 are fine with rays but goldies L014 are sometimes a little too aggressive with them.
You will need to provide a few places for the plecs to hide though. I've lost a few plecs because of the rays attacking them.

I have a 4" Gold nugget with my smaller rays, no problem yet...And I have an 8" Small eyed Panaque in with my larger ones and so far so good!
