well seeing as how you have a backyard, why not use the summertime to breed TONS of livebearers. just get a whole ton of swords, mollies, guppies and throw them in a makeshift pond. they would be more valuable than mosquito fish.
you can get 45 gallon rubbermaids at walmart for cheap. another option is that lowes sells hardshell pond containers for a bit more but more selection and bigger. also, tractor supply store has troughs you can get but they would be pricierall_or_nothin;3219338; said:mosquito fish are CHEAP. thats the problem. btw where do u get rubbermaids?
since it is summer, i would think many SA/CA cichlids would do well. just pick one that is hardy and breeds fast.loki the sly;3219368; said:wat do u think is the most valuable livebearer that i could breed in those tubs? and wat kind of cichlids would i be able to breed outside like that?
worst case scenario, they all become high quality feeders. livebearers are an easy sell. you could even sell a bunch on craigslist or ebay if need be. as for the cichlids, talk to your buddy that has the lfs. i'm sure he would take emloki the sly;3219420; said:sound great. but i do see a small problem. wat if at the end of summer, i have all these fish, but i cant sell most of them and im left with a bunch of fish frozen in blocks of ice? atleast with the mosquito fish there are always ppl that want large quantities of them.
idk, but i think we might have something with this idea. atleast for the summer.
