Im just curious, since were on the topic...

Has anyone sold any fish for money or store credit to a large chain store such as Petsmart or for you US citizens Pet Co. ???

I asked my local Big Al's, Petsmart, and Petcetara if they would pay anything for approximitally (75) 1" convicts and every store told me that they would take them as donations but couldn't give me any money for them.

Is selling fish to LFS's geared more towards small businesses?

No thread hyjacking intended. ;)

yes, you will really only get people that even give you the time of day about trading or selling fish at privately owned lfs. it helps to get a good relationship with the store first, like any business transaction. remember, its a business for them, so if you can provide them for what is in demand, they are more likely to deal with you. thats all its about. as for the chains, they don't deal with anyone unless its through corporate and all that corp. america bs.

..................................... so yeah, killis! they are egg layers breeding requirements vary from one species to another. they have even found species of killies that live in pools of rainwater in trees. :headbang2

another very easy idea, and not so much breeding is GROW AQUATIC PLANTS! a mother sword plant can sell for 20 or more easily. if you farm a bunch a plants with killis breeding in there, you got double the pleasure, double the fun!

thanks swede
annuals or nonannuals?
do these guys breed fast enough for them to be profitable?
is it that difficult?

keep the great ideas coming :D

I used work for PetsMart back in the day and I was always told it was "against store policy" end of story... I took that as they must have a strict agreement with their vendors.

i got no experience with SW fish and i dont want to go out to buy all that equitment, so i dont think i could go with that

theyre as different as cichlids of the world. you gotta look into what is in demand. i would suggest calling a few lfs and asking what their popular killis are or ask what killis they might be interested in selling. go from there. get a few ideas from them, and narrow it down to a couple varieties. it will take lots of research, but if you're serious and you have fun with it, its all worth it. non- annuals live longer (just like annual flowers die every year) and annuals live shorter lives. non-annuals might be better since you would get more time to sell them and logic would say people would pay more for fish that live longer right?

what about flowerhorns buy a pair of those really hi quality and sell them
