What should i get? The new Xbox 360 or a PS3?!?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
PS3 every time, and this is coming from a major video game nerd with both systems.

XBox can run out of space, require monthly fees, and generally worse graphics IMO.

LOL xbox graphics are comparable to PS3 minus the fact that PS3 has a blue ray player. If you place any cross platform game side by side, same graphics. Even the graphics on xbox only games they beat most PS3 games hands down. Run out of space? You can use external HDD for memory so memory is not an issue. I would pay the fee to have a reliable service that rarely goes down and when it goes down doesn't cause mass amounts of chaos because you can still play the game without the internet.

With the Xbox you and 7 friends can all chat at once and not be in the same game. If I remember correctly the PS3 can't do anything close to that. While a PS3 exclusive can look better than a Xbox exclusive, if its on both platforms its either the same or better on Xbox.

I have both and use my 360 a lot more. Most of my friends have 360 and thus all of my multiplayer games like COD and such are on 360. Though if it was not for that I woudl not own a 360 quite honestly. I am not into halo and these days exclusives dont last that way too long like Mass Effect....

I find that the PS3 looks better, SOUNDS better (can actually handle 7.1 unlike the 360 which is still at 5.1 though I know 99% of people do not have 7.1 like me), online is free (and has greatly improved recently) ect. It is my main movie player again due to the ability to read 7.1 when available.

If more of my friends had a PS3 then I would just use that. I do not notice much difference between the online environments since I use them to play games and not hit up the stores and all that. 360 charges me though and starting next month I believe they are raising the price which sucks a bit more...

I do find it funny though that my SONY PS3 interacts with my computer better to stream music, videos, and such then my MICROSOFT 360. lol

This was true a year or two ago but since Sony has opened up their dev kits this has started to go the other way. It is supposedly easier to code initially on PS3 then port over to the other systems.

I dont notice too much of a difference really except in shadowing of the games. There you can see the better processor of the PS3 shine.

With some of the lower level development teams you get games that are better on Xbox but with the better teams like Infinity Wards the games are typically the same on both consoles.

I always loved LittleBigPlanet but the online was terrible. I would be walking, it would freeze and then I would stretch across the screen. I have good internet so that was never the problem.

I have had a PS3 since they came out as I slept outside a Target for 2 days to get it (ok I sold those two units and the profits paid for my own unit and games...lol) and have yet to have an internet issue while playing online EXCEPT with the MAG betta.

Your experience might vary in terms of the looks of the games as I can notice no difference on my 40" but on my bigger 52" and especially on my HD projector in the basement it is highly noticeable that the PS3 has better shadows and a faster refresh rate to stop pixelation in fast motion.

Regardless the differences in visuals woudl not be enough to get me to buy either one. Like I said before I play my 360 more since I play a lot of COD MW2

I've had my ps3 for a while now and I love it!! I have never ever had any lagg while online gaming. Not even once!! I'd say go ps3! But you have games and for friends for the 360 so I'd rather get a 360.

Save your money and use your pc for gaming.

I have found consoles to be way cheaper then PC gaming. The games are around the same price so you gain nor lose anything there but with a console you have quite a few years with a $300 investment. Video cards, processors, sound cards, ect all come and go too quickly in computers to say the same.

Sure you could build a gaming PC that will last 5 years but at that point you are already well over what a console woudl cost to buy a few times.
