Mark what size you prefer to buy your cichla, and comment if you like please.

3"-6". I like buying at a younger age and seeing the process/coloring up they go through.

yeah, same here.
I like the satisfaction of growing them up all the way,

I like to get them small and raise them to figure out the difference between mono's, ocell's, kelberi's, etc...

9+ for me, if i can find them. that way i dont waste time growing out a fish that wont develop into a stunner. especially orinos. hard to tell at a young age how it will look grown up. by the time its grown up, youve invested 20x the value of the fish in housing/food costs :nilly:

the rio meta and rio negro orinos were an exception though :D

i've been buying small but have decided i am done with that. i would rather just qt and in to the big tank.

I agree...this especially applies to Orinos and Kelberi. I want to make sure I've got a stunner on my hands before I invest my heart into it.

That said, I can't help but enjoy raising a group of small cichla. Wild to see how that 2" noodle turns into an 18" menace!

i like to buy as small as possible. i luv watching them grow/ color change over time!
