Any ideas what this little guy is. Hes about 5" at the moment. The shop had no idea just said hes a channa.what species is this little guy.?

I will try too. He seems to change colour every day.hes quite dark at the moment. Will get some with my dslr tonight if he stays still long enough!
Ya I think my first guess was wrong, looks more like Channa Sp. Redfin in that last shot, except not alot of red in the fin ??
It'll color up once it settled into a new home. It's the black spot's on the face and in that last pic i think i can see red under the eye, Stweartii would have neither and normally a lot more spots on the sides but the absence of red on the fin's is odd.
I dont see red under the eye in the other pic's though , which would make me think one of the Stewartii/"True blue" local's , and just very washed out and brown ? They have spots on the face but normally a lot more on the body.
nice find either way i'd scoop it up keep it in cooler temps and let it settle in, see what it looks like when it's in a good mood!
