On the cruise or just in general?
Because on the cruise I liked
Aruba because we got scuba dive there, which was pretty fun,
In general I like probably New York (which I forgot about on list) and Wisconsin.
diving of anyform - any type of underwater exploration always seems to make visiting a place imprinted on your memory as unforgettable. I did most of my underwater exploring in Florida, both mainland and the keys, but I also have done some locally which just really isn't quite the same lol

I've never been to the city itself actually
I have a few friends who live up by the finger lakes (Seneca I believe), So I occasionally visit them up there.

It's not so sad at all,at least you can say that you have been somewhere Some people never leave the street that they live on their whole lives.
For some reason the movie the Jerk came to my mind, when Steve Martin said he was going to leave and by the end of the day he was just at the end of the street.

I've been to every state, lived overseas in Europe, and have visited 66 countries. If offered the opportunity to revisit anywhere, I'd opt to return to Phuket, Thailand. In particular, I'd love to return to Phang Nga Bay near Phuket. The scenery and diving is simply 'other-worldly'. One of the highlights of the trip was taking a boat completely under a mountain from one end to the other. There are hundreds of these sea-caves in the area.

Whenever I see people who post about trips I always have to ask when they did them? Did you do it in your early years in college or just after or after retirement? I've been to most of the US states and a few Caribbean countries. I've travelled a fair bit of Canada as well. One of my favorited has been mammoth caves Kentucky where I went with a private guide through very difficult caverns. I always enjoy sunny beach ocean vacations as well but mammoth really stood out.
I'm planning Iceland trip, and New Zealand but I have some friends talking about world tours after university. Time will tell

How is it in the winter? My wife and I are sick of Florida, and one of the locations we'd considered was NY (Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse) areas. But we'd hate to go somewhere TOO drastic of a winter change and hate it. We want snow, but unsure if we want snow up to our necks. Yes, those areas are in the snow belt, so they get a good amount of snow, but is it bearable?

we are definitely in the snow belt areas.. buffalo gets more I think.. and we get extra from lake Ontario..lake effect.. although the summers by lake Ontario is just gorgeous and lots of boating and fishing.. and very reasonable to live in general.. if you need lots of sun shine do not expect this much during winter.. some days are dry and crisp and sunny..but most are gray and cloudy..where did you come from originally? This is important that you would not go into drastic change
