What States/Countries.....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
we are definitely in the snow belt areas.. buffalo gets more I think.. and we get extra from lake Ontario..lake effect.. although the summers by lake Ontario is just gorgeous and lots of boating and fishing.. and very reasonable to live in general.. if you need lots of sun shine do not expect this much during winter.. some days are dry and crisp and sunny..but most are gray and cloudy..where did you come from originally? This is important that you would not go into drastic change
My wife was born and raised in Venezuela, and I in Florida, so yes it'll be a drastic change for the both of us, but I guess neither of us know our limits. I love the cold, do I love 0 degree cold? Im not sure, never experienced it. Lowest we've seen is mid 20s on our last vacation to Montreal, it was bearable, but there was no snow. some of our favorite days are cloudy days, so no, sunshine isnt a must. Its really something we need to go and check out, but everytime we go somewhere to experience snow, it never snows.

funny thing is I was raised on long island ny where we had a few blizzards.. north easters... so we went to florida .. I could not stand the sun after awhile.. I said yikes please give me a cloudy day... I also did not like that I could not walk barefoot.. wow those bugs especially the fireants.... so we moved back to ny... it was totally refreshing to be back to the 4 seasons.. the bugless winters etc ..a lot less humidity.. wow the humidity in florida just stops you dead in your tracks sometimes .... but now older I yearn for florida.. are we ever happy..lol..... one thing that is a big plus to me here... it is still country... quiet ... hardly any traffic.. hardly any crime... takes you back to the old days...

Florida is nice to vacation to, but no way I want to continue living here. Everything you mentioned, is 100% correct, BUT, im also sick of palm trees, flat landscape, year round summer, it was 80+ on Xmas day. Coldest it go was 45 one night, ONE NIGHT!

We have several seasons, Summer, love bug season, summer, mosquito season, love bug season again, then some more summerm and a 1 day winter season. Nice huh.

haha your funny especially that your a true Floridian..you sound like my husband.. he hated florida.. and only would consider moving there for me... which is probably not going to happen.. we have 4 old horses.. I was thinking of Ocala... but vet said the horses would not do well on the trip or take to all the different bugs and hay...so that squashed that idea..maybe it is for my own good.. florida is beautiful in many respects.. but yes being flat is so boring.. the view here is so pretty...if you want mountains look into the upstate Cobleskill area... that was just awesome.. and get a 4 wheel drive.. here it is just hilly... rolling .. etc..

PS It must be those snow covered xmas cards getting to you... and for me its those swaying palm trees..lol.... here is what I look at every day nestled in my cabin...I do love our trees..i planted so many its like my mini jungle..

That's beautiful, that's what I want! I love the mountains, but our careers are in the electronic manufacturing, which is mostly in buffalo/rochester areas. My wife loves big cities, and I hate them, so we'd have to live somewhere near a big city for her enjoyment. lol
I have a 2wd/4wd SUV, and shes got a small 2wd drive car, but the lease on that would be up before we got to move, so she'd probably have a capable vehicle come then.

this is the closest thing we have to a mountain in Florida.
a grass covered dump (not florida though)

Haha.. but still pretty in all the green.. if you need to live near city..check out towns like Pittsford , Greece Brighton, Webster.. all close to Rochester yet somewhat country..

I live in Massachusetts. I've been all the way up the coast to Maine, Vermont, new York, Jersey, Rhode island, Connecticut, Florida, and old Quebec Canada. I would love to go to Saskatchewan to fish lake diefenbaker or go to Brazil to see the meeting of the waters

get off the coast and see the inland places too...... some countryside is just beautiful with the lakes and streams.. oh I would love Saskatchewan
