What substrate do you guys have with your poly

Pool filter sand. No rinsing, cheap, easily found. :)

A few yrs ago when I had my polys for a couple yrs, I had gravel as substrate without a problem. I read some people had said sometimes polys would swallow gravel so I changed to bare bottom. Just wondering what you guys were using.

Also was curious if anyone was running an under gravel filter in addition to sumps/canister filters.

White sand, He loves it and swims around like a moron

Had mine in gravel for almost a decade, and I'm pretty sure he's eaten it at least once or twice. Just recently put him in a bigger tank with pool filter sand, and he seems to be loving it. The maintenance of the sand is pretty easy. Just vacuum close to the service, you'll suck up a little sand (but honestly, it's sand.... not hard to replace) but it's so much easier than cleaning the gravel like I used to.

I might be able to show some love if you post a pic of two. Got me curious
