What tank size do i need for this stocking?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
also (soz for all the questions) if i did go for a Rotkeil pair and say 16 dithers, could i get lots of corys etc aswell?

2 10" fish, 16 dithers, that sounds full already to me. Pair in the 3' tank would be risky imo, not much room for female to run if attacked. I'd keep a divider on hand if you try it.

you'll never get a 10" Rotkeil imo, i dont even think they can get that big, but yeah you have a point, i just don't want the tank to look empty, so i'm looking at the best way to cram my 3x2x2 and make it as active as possible.

I did have a pair of gold and a red that used to bredd non stop in a 4ft 260litre no bother with tank mates other than a bit of chasing, fully grown including other cichlids, and this will be a 300litre.

You may be right about the 8", 10" is potential max size. Most probably do stop around 8". A breeding pair of 8" cichlids plus other cichlid tankmates in a 3' tank still sound pretty packed and risky to me thought. But if you do it and it works out well post some pics, I'm sure it will be a nice looking tank.
best of luck
