Looking at the photos again, and specifically the dorsal fin, I would agree too, good spot.

Not typically a hybrid fan but think they look neat. I have yet to see pics of an adult?
Look at the adipose too - it's of Leiarius.
I think these are known hybrids to us, we have seen them before - RTC x Leiarius marmoratus or pictus.
Just as GiantFishKeeper101 says, my impression is they are not viable, most die before reaching 1', a few cases have been reported of 2' ones.

Mine made it to 16-18" in a year if I remember right before being killed by my ex-wife. I documented it's growth on here somewhere haha.
Is there a list of the fish that the Redtail Catfish can (successfully) hybridize with? Now I'm curious...
