I guess only specialty stores with jacked up prices should carry fish that get large...

i guess im just saying they shouldnt sell the fish if they are gonna give out crappy info

How can a store control what the min. wage employees they have say. LPS are full of horrible info the same as petsmart, petco, etc

i agree they can sell what they want. i was just mad that she said a full grown one could live in a 75-90 gallon

And what about the folks I see leaving the store with a 5 gallon tank in the box, with 2 goldfish and a common pleco that the salesperson sold as a " cleaner" fish? I think the point here is that other than the pacus that they sell, and have always sold, they have the right to sell any of these fish. What they don't have the right to do is let their staff sell these fish to uneducated and unknowing customers when they themselves don't know much about the fish they are selling. It would seriously take about 2 hours to train their staff about adult sizes and minimum tank requirements for their stock. I mean, there's seriously only about 5-10 species they sell that get that big.

Compatibilty issues, tank setup and cycling....., well those are other issues entirely and should be addressed, but adult sizes and tank requirements should be part of their training at the bare minimum. IMO of course

your beginning complaint doesnt make sense but im assuming you mean for a fish they should give it out if theres crap for info..but i dont see why not to sell clown knives..but if they do say crappy things its not good..for business or customers..

Youre suprised that people buy fish they cant keep...? Ever worked at a pet store? It happens all day long.

Just because it happens doesn't make it right....for the customer or the salesperson.

im not saying they cant sell it but i mean of all the fish to sell. Next it will tiger shovelnose, GATF, AROWS (WHICH WOULD BE SWEET CUZ I COULD BUY ANOTHER SINCE I HAVE A BIGGER TANK NOW)

Without the stupid customers that buy things that they shouldnt, fish stores wouldnt stay open IMO. We get so many stupid customers a day that just dont listen and are ignorant about the things they do with the fish.

No matter what they sell, the buyers will have to take responsibility for their choice of fish. If its goldfish, Pacu, or even Tetras; people will have to provide them with the proper housing and care. But I do hate when I hear people saying that they are going to put their new Pacu in their huge 55 gal. So I know what you mean.
