I was given a 8" pacu last year to put in my 300 gal tank. Now he is every bit of 18" and still growing. Iv tried to give him away to people and to the local zoo and aquarium but they said they couldt take him. WHAT DO I DO?

Make a post in the market place some one is bound to want him hopefully someone with a large pond that can house it for life are you looking to trade sell or give away free to an adequate home?

You post pictures up on MFK, and you offer him to one of these guys on here with means to handle him @ the cost of shipping. I doubt you'd have him for much longer.

Go to the DIY section and start reading up on building ponds and big tanks.:headbang2 If not an option I agree with advertising as free to a good home, with proof of a good home and shipping cost.

Eat it. Or failing that, chop it up and feed it to your other fish.

pacus are a mistake. I would try giving it away to someone with a big enough tank.

Usually intermediate to expert monster fish keepers growout monster juveniles in small tanks because they want a way larger tank in the future.........If this is not the case then donating the fish, when it is too big, to the local zoo/aqauarium will be the only live choice........The local aqaurium in San Francisco took in two of my Red Tail Catfishes...........My uncle and I grew them from 2 inch size to 3 feet within ywo years inside a 300g tank...........
