  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will not release him to the wild and i WILL NOT CUT HIM UP. My fish are my babies, they get treated better than my wife. But i do appreciate the ideas.

I completely understand, I couldn't either. I just meant that it is worth a try to see if you can manipulate the zoo in to taking it.

I meant you click the link and advertise the free fish there.:)

I am in the Shreveport area. If you can make a drive over here, I may be able to help out. I'm getting ready to set up a pond for a TSN and FL gar. Pm me.

I also know someone in New Orleans that does monster fish rescue. You may have to do a lil driving, but I know he'd take it.

I am in the middle of a home renovation and am not able to build my pond until I get the fish room area closed in so I can heat and cool it. That could be a few months.

I hate to agree with killing a fish because that's basically admitting failure as a fishkeeper. But if he hasn't gone to someone or a zoo within a year, and you can't get a 1000 gallon tank running, it might truly be the only viable option. Might as well feed it to your other fish as suggested.

This is why I still don't understand why they are sold to the general public. They should be a special order item like the oddball doradids and other large catfish.

I Don't think this is admitting failure. If he kept the fish and it died because of improper housing/care, that would be considered failure IMO. The fact that he's asking what he should do is responsible.

I say cut it up, freeze it and feed it to your other fish... Or ship it up here to me to feed my fish:)
