What to do with a fish thats getting way to big?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The Pet Co in my area has it where you can drop unwanted live fish off at their place for free and they put it in one of their tanks and sell it off cheaply to someone else.

I am confused. What are the dimensions of the 300 gallon tank that you have. I see a few on Glasscages.com listed, and I do not understand how the majority of them could not house your Pacu.

I read in this thread that it will max out at around 3'! Even the extreme non-flexible Gar fish I am to understand that width of the tank be >= the length of the fish!

270 Wide 96 x 36 x 17 Tall
300 Wide 96 x 30 x 25 Tall
310 Square 48 x 48 x 31 Tall

In fact the only 300 gallon range tank (TOO!) narrow for your Pacu's length would be the tall special 300 Tall @ 96 x 24 x 31 Tall

WTF? How is killing a fish < 3' better than keeping it in a over three feet in both width and length?

I sure am glad that our judicial system is not as low (or high depending on your perspective) standard of a crew as MFK'rs. Sheesh, I would hate to know that dudes getting caught drinking two beers at O'Learys Bar and Grill are getting mercifully "euthanized" rather than stuffed into a dirty 7' x 8' cage!

Oh heck yea I love my 7 acres and stretching out with plenty of elbow (bobo) room, but if push comes to shove, cage me before you kill me please!

Lately in the last few weeks I have seen several 400 gallon tanks a 700 gallon and rare 800 gallon tank running around but that is nothing comparied to the 1200 and 950 gallon tanks that I saw.

My Goldfish too have over sized my 75 gallon and I'm going to look for a enigeering solution before I get rid of them and that will come in the form of a summer outdoor home for them in the form of a 650 blue stock tank for the summer.

i'm going to keep my pacu in a 350g 8x3x24 for life, even if it means he's sideways during water changes.

much better than 95% of pacu out there get

he's 10 inches in a 50 gallon for now

tenecor is going to have the 350g tank to me in 2 more weeks, at least that is what i'm told. already been paid for. fx5 and xp4 are running on the 50g. rinse +spin cycle :D
